Key identification features : Small evergreen tree. Bark pale brown, young shoots and tender parts of the plant rusty tomentose. Leaves oblong-orbicular, chartaceous, obtuse or emarginate at apex. Rounded or cordate at base. Fuvous-tomentose beneath. Calyx deeply 5-lobed. Fruit a subglobose reddish-purple drupe, edible.
