  • Key identification features : A handsome decidous tree. Leaves are simple, obovate and attenuate at the base; lateral veins up to 30-50 pairs, often forking towards the margins. Flowers 3 cm across, appear in clusters and yellow in colour. Stamens many, innermost 10, longer than the rest and recurved.

  • Comments : Occasional in moist deciduous forests of hills. Deciduous during February-May. Fruits are edible. Wood is used for timber implements.
