  • Key identification features : Tufted perennial with short rhizome. Stem up to 30 cm, sheaths brown. Leaves are many. Inflorescence simple, subglobose with long spreading bracts. Spikelets many in a cluster, congested, ovate to lanceolate, 3-6 flowered. Nutlet ellipsoid.
