  • Key identification features : The rhizome is erect, densely covered with scales all over; scales lanceolate, uniformly dark brown; margin entire with few long or short filamentous, multicellular hairs. The stipes are tufted, dark brown, densely overed by dark brown, linear, hairlike, branched scaled all over when young. Lamina oblong-lanceolate, abruptly narrowed towards base and apex, simply pinnate; pinnae upto 20 pairs, usually sub-sessile, sub-opposite or alternate, upto 2 cm apart, basal 2-3 pairs slightly reduced; pinnae pale green; scales similar to those on stipes distributed densely on rachis all over. Sori linear along the acroscopic veinlet; indusia entire, rigid; Spores reniform or planoconvex, dark brown coloured.
