  • Key identification features : Rhizome is long, creeping and densely covered by hairs and scales all over. Stipes are scattered, pale or grey-brown, rounded abaxially, stramineous and grooved adaxially. Lamina ovate, bipinnatifid or tripinnate, apex acute, base cuneate; secondary pinnae upto eight pairs in the basal primary pinna of the largest frond, ascending, alternate, stalked upto 0.5 cm; pinnules upto 4 pairs in the basalmost secondary pinna, alternate, basal acroscopic pinnule larger in size, obovate or parallelogram like, base cuneate, apex rounded, margin lobed deeply into two or three primary unequal lobes which lobed again one or two times, apex of the ultimate lobes acute; lamina yellowish-green, glabrous above and below; texture soft, herbaceous. Sori submarginal on the basal acroscopic lobe of the pinnule at the vein end, distinctly raised on the upper surface of the pinnule; spores ellipsoid or planoconvex or reniform.
