  • Key identification features : Stem erect, rooting at base only, upto 2 mm thick, terete, upto 20 cm long without branches, stramineousbranched portion quadripinnate; lateral branches about eight pairs, alternate, about 4 cm apart, ascending, lanceolate, bearing secondary and tertiary branches; leaves on mani stem uniform, scattered appressed, broadly ovate, acute, entire; leaves on distalmost part of mani axis and on lateral branches dimorphic; lateral ones ovate-lanceolate. Leaves pale green to dark green; cones terminal on ultimate branches, quadrangular; sporophylls uniform, ovate, acuminate, entire; microspores reddish-brown in mass.
