  • Key identification features : Rhizome short creeping, upto 5 mm thick, densely covered by appressed and laneolate scales. Fronds are scattered, upto 0.5 cm apart, simple, monomorphic, linear-elliptic to lanceolatewidest at the neck region from where it narrows towards base and apex progressively, margin entire; midrib slightly distinct and pale or reddish-brown above; veins immersed; fronds dark green above, pale brown below; texture thick, coriaceous; lower surface of frond densely clothed by pale brown, stalked, soft, stellate hairs in two layers. Sori numerous, three to five per larger areole, towards distal half of the frond, probably terminal on the tertiary veins, orbicular, protected by stellate hairs, marked by dark spot above; sporangia with stalk about half of the length of the sporangium; spores reniform or planoconvex, yellowish-brown.
