  • Key identification features : Rhizome erect, about 3 cm thick, densely scaly at the apex; scales lanceolate, yellowish brown or dark brown. Stipes tufted, dark brown or black, scaly at the very base, glabrous and glossy above. Lamina lanceolate, bipinnate; pinnae about 12 pairs, progressively reduced towards the apex, opposite or subopposite, shortly stalked, ovate-lanceolate; pinnules about 10 pairs, adnate with the costa, margin entire; pinnae dark green, glabrous and glossy above, covered by silver coloured waxy powder below; texture thin or thick herbaceous. Sori along veins, covered by entire surface when mature, spores trilete, honey coloured.
