  • Key identification features : Rhizome is short, creeping, densely scaly at the apex, sparsely in the rest; scales broadly ovate or ovate-lanceolate. Fronds closely arranged in two rows, entire frond upto 85 cm long, lanceolate or elliptic, margin entire, decurrent upto the base of the frond without distinct stipe; veins slightly distinct and raised above and below, copiously anastomosing to form larger areoles enclosing smaller areoles; pinnae dark green when fresh, blackish when dry, glabrous above and below, texture coriaceous. Sori numerous, distributed all over the lower surface of the basal pinna leaving the basal part, paraphyses copious, short, club-shaped; spores yellowish-green.
