  • Key identification features : Rhizome upto 3 mm thick, branched, densely covered by ovate-lanceolate scales all over. Stipes scattered, more or less tetragonal with a shallow groove on all sides except on the abaxial side, dark or purplish-brown below, stramineous above, glossy and glabrous all over. Lamina obovate, simply pinnate with a terminal pinna similar to the lateral ones; pinnae one to six pairs, subopposite or alternate, shortly stalked; costa raised and rounded below, flattened above, veins slightly distinct above and below copiously anastomosing to form a series of narrow areoles; texture herbaceous. Sori linear, continuous or interrupted, all along the margin except at the very base, indusiate; indusia thin, membranaceous, pale brown, glabrous with wavy margin; spores dark brown.
