  • Key identification features : The rhizome is erect or sub-erect covered by ovate-lanceolate scales. The stipes are tufted, wiry, numerous, dark brown or black coloured, glabrous above. The lamina is lanceolate, simply pinnate; pinnae distinctly stalked, fan shaped; pale green coloured, glabrous above and below; texture herbaceous. Sori continuous along the edge of the lobe; spores triangular.

  • Comments : They are terrestrials commonly seen along partially or fully exposed roadsides; rarely also seen as lithophytes. 'Though more cytology needed in South India'- CRFJ.
