  • Key identification features : Rhizome short creeping, upto 3 cmm thick, densely covered by ovate-lanceolate scales at the apex. Stipes scattered, rounded abaxially, grooved adaxially, castaneous or greyish-brown, glabrous and glossy all over. Lamina ovate or broadly-ovate, bipinnate or bipinnatifid, distinct primary pinnae three to five pairs; primary pinnae opposite or subopposite or alternate, about 8 cm apart, slightly ascending; secondary pinnae mostly adnate and decurrent, , about five pairs, alternate; veins slightly distinct below, copiously anastomosing to form a series of elongated areoles along costa and costules; lamina pale green; texture thin, soft herbaceous; pale brown, soft hairs distributed all over the lamina except the abaxial side of main rachis. Sori on the end of veinlets in two rows along the costules of secondary pinnae, orbicular; indusia glabrous, dark brown; spores reniform or planoconvex or spherical, pale brown.
