  • Key identification features : Rhizome is short, creeping, densely clothed by lanceolate scales all over. Stipes grey-brown when dry, scaly below, glabrous and glossy above, fronds dimorphic; lamina lanceolate, bipinnate; pinnae upto 10 pairs, ascending, shortly stalked, subopposite; largest sterile pinnae 13 × 3.5 cm, oblong-lanceolate; fertile pinna upto 9 × 2.5 cm, pinnules upto 15 pairs, alternate; costa raised and rounded, stramineous below; veins slightly distinct below, indistinct above; pinnae pale green, texture subcoriaceous, long, soft, pale brown, appressed hairs sparsely distributed on costa. Fertile pinnule oblong, acute, margin lobed more than halfway to the costule; lobes upto eight pairs, deltoid, toothed; sori one per lobe, reniform; spores dark brown.
