  • Key identification features : The rhizome is erect or sub-erect, densely clothed by scales intermingled with long, wooly hairs; scales linear-lanceolate, hair pointed, margin toothed. The stipes are tufted, dark brown, densely clothed by scales and hairs. Lamina is ovate-lanceolate, bipinnate; primary pinnae upto 25 pairs, alternate or sub-opposite, apex with long, serrate pinnule; pinnules are upto 12 pairs, sessile, alternate, trilobed, margin serrate; pinnae pale green, texture sub-coriaceous. Sori upto 1 cm long, narrowing at ends; spores reniform.

  • Comments : Frequent along roadsides on partially or fully shaded stream banks/forest edges in Western Ghats and B.R.Hills of Chamrajnagar.
