  • Key identification features : Rhizome is erect, densely covered by linear-lanceolate scales at the apex. Stipes are tufted, covered by scales densely below and sparsely above. Lamina elliptic or lanceolate, simply pinnate gradually narrowed from the middle portion towards apex and base; pinnae upto 20 pairs, few basalmost pinnae shortly stalked opposite; pinnae pale green, glabrous above and below, texture herbaceous. Sori median or sub-median on the veins. straight or hooked; indusia pale brown, entire; spores globose or ellipsoid, yellowish-brown.

  • Comments : Usually growing on rock crevices along fully or partially shaded roadsides. Very common in coastal regions of Karnataka and Western Ghats.
