- Key identification features : Rhizome erect, 5 cm thick, densely covered by lanceolate scales all over. Stipes upto 74 cm long, 1 cm thick with two to three pairs of leaf bases, dark brown and scaly at the base, pale brown and glabrous above, abaxially rounded, adaxially grooved. Lamina oblong, simply pinnate; pinnae upto 11 cm; largest pinna linear-oblong, oblique, margin entire; costa slightly raised, rounded below, not raised and flattened above; veins obscure above and below, copiously anastomosing to form series of areoles; texture coriaceous, pinnae glabrous all over above and below, yellowish-green when fresh, brownish when dry; upto six pairs of pinnae in distal part of lamina are fertile; sori acrostichoid, spores trilete.
