- Key identification features : Main stem prostrate, terete, bearing roots sparsely on the abaxial side; main branch borne alternately at about 3 cm intervals, bent at the base, erect, bearing secondary branches at about 2 cm intervals alternately, tertiary branches more or less equally forked upto five times. Leaves dense on ultimate branchlets, sparse on other parts of the stem, appressed, opposite decussate, straight or slightly falcate, acuminate, entire, glabrous, pale green and coriaceous. Cones usually borne on ultimate branchlets, pedunculate, erect, forked once or twice, bearing ovate-lanceolate, spreading, slightly thinner leaves sparsely, cones cylindrical, sporophylls broadly ovate, sporangia reniform, pale brown; spores globose, trilete, pale green.
