  • Key identification features : Rhizome is long, creeping, densely covered by ovate-lanceolate, uniformly dark scales. The stipes are scattered, dark brown, glabrous and polished. The lamina is ovate-lanceolate, simply pinnate; pinnae about 15-25 pairs, shortly stalked, opposite or sub-opposite in the lower part of lamina; pinnae pale green, upper surface almost glabrous, lower surface with long, soft and light brown scales. Sori imbricate along the costa; spores reniform.

  • Comments : This species is found in variety of habitats. Seen as terrestrials along road cuttings or as lithophytes along stream banks or as epiphytes inside the forest. Occasional in the Nandi hills and B.R.Hills.
