  • Key identification features : It has sub-erect and sub-globose shaped rhizome which is densely covered by scales. The stipes are numerous, tufted, pale brown at the base and pale green above having soft, thin and transparent scales distributed sparsely all over. The laminae are flabellate, semi-circular and wedge-shaped, repeatedly, dichotomously divided upto six times. Lamina pale green in colour, coriaceous texture.Sporangia borne in intramarginal grooves throughout, protected by the reflexed margins of the segments; spores trilete.

  • Comments : Commonly found beneath rock crevices in dry hills of Deccan Plateau. It is a low altitude, terrestrial or lithophytic fern growing in large colonies along road sides in fully exposed places.
