  • Key identification features : A small, fast growing, short-lived evergreen tree; young branchlets and stipules pubescent. Leaves are simple, oblong-lanceolate, acuminate at apex, obliquely sub-cordate at base, serrate, scabrid above, pubescent beneath. Flowers in axillary clusters, about 1 cm. dia. and greenish. Fruit is a black drupe. Bark is greyish or bluish-green.
