  • Key identification features : A medium-sized densely foliaceous tree with grey pubescens on twigs. Bark is grey,smooth and thick with lenticels and is horizontally wrinkled. Leaves are simple and disticous, ovate, acute to shortly acuminate with a distinct oblique base and a serrate margin, midrib has prominent ascending veins in addition to 2 basal ones, stipules are free and caducous. Inflorescence is an axillary cyme and flowers are polygamous, stamens 4-5 with hairy pistillode, ovary is sessile. Fruit is a drupe.
