  • Key identification features : Small aquatic herbs. Stem is slender, puberulous or glabrous. Leaves are 3-nerved, punctate and the emergent leaves are serrulate to lobed. Flowers are solitary, axillary or racemed. Corolla is pale-white with limb tinged pink, red or purple.

  • Comments : It is highly polymorphic, variable in size depending on the water level. Flowers bilipped; seeds many, brown.
