  • Key identification features : A medium tree with young parts being rusty-tomentose. Leaves are linear-lanceolate or oblong-lanceolate, acute at apex and base, lateral nerves are 10 - 15 pairs. Flowers are fascicled in dense clusters at the ends of the branches. Berry is oblong or oblong-ellipsoid, yellow when ripe.

  • Comments : Not common; sometimes cultivated along roadsides. The flowers are edible, sweet and distilled for alcoholic liqour. Oil yeilding seeds and wood used for Boat making The seeds yield edible oil.
