  • Key identification features : A mangrove and littoral tree with glabrous branches. Leaves are fleshy, glaucous, elliptic-lanceolate, obtuse and mucronate at apex with 5-6 nerves on the leaf. Flowers are greenish-yellow, bracts are small, ovate and caducous.

  • Comments : Sometimes planted. Leaves and seed oil medicinial. Extract from bark used for cleaning teeth. Soft twigs are used as Tooth-brushes.
