- Key identification features : A small evergreen shrub. Bark is thin, light brown, corky and stiff thorns are present on the stem. Leaves are alternate, pinnately compound, with 3-7 leaflets, elliptic or elliptic-lanceolate, obtuse at apex, crenate. Inflorescence is a cyme to about 2.5 cm long. Berry is globose, bluish-black.
