  • Key identification features : Tall shrubs. Leaves are oblanceolate, abruptly acuminate, stipule is connate, ovate, membraneous. Flowers are in cymes, terminal, panicled, glabrous and subsessile. Calyx is long, globose, lobes are ovate and corolla is 8 mm long, ovate or obtuse, curved; stamens are 5, included. Anthers are linear. Ovary is 2-celled with one ovule in each cell. Style is 2-fid at the apex. Fruit is 6 mm across, globose, glabrous and 2-seeded.
