  • Key identification features : A large shrub. Branchlets are greyish-brown, woody. Leaf is coriaceous, oblong-elliptic and often highly variable in size, shape and colour. Flowers are white, fragrant to about 1.5 cm across, in terminal corymbose cymes. Calyx is campanulate, lobes 5, puberulous without. Corolla is salver form with tube being 2 mm, villous within. Berry globose, black, seeds are about 6-8.
