  • Key identification features : Evergreen shrubs. Bark is thin, brown in colour, leaves are elliptic to oblong, cuneate, obtuse and serrate. Flowers are bracteate, large, fragrant, golden-yellow with persistant sepals. Sepals 5, petals 7-12, rarely 5. Drupes are 3-10, seated on a broad disc, shining black. Sepals are accrescent in fruit.
