  • Key identification features : A small tree. Bark is pale and lenticellate. Leaves are simple, elliptic-obovate, scabrid above and hispid beneath, lamina serrate, triplinerved, lateral nerves 4-6 pairs, upto 13 cm long, 6 cm broad. Stipules are caducous, petiole to 5 cm long. Figs are scabrid, usually solitary, axillary and globose.

  • Comments : Common in forests. Leaves are rough and used as sand paper in Sandalwood carving.
