  • Key identification features : A moderate size evergreen tree with sometimes yellowish-foliage. Bark is thin, light-brown, corky and fluted or marked by fine vertical cracks. Leaves are coriaceous, opposite, elliptic-ovate, shining above and pale beneath. Flowers are axillary, bluish-purple or blue, in compact sessile umbels. Petals 4, Stamens 8. Berry is sub-globose, purplish black and shining.
