  • Key identification features : A small perennial branched shrub with alternate, lobed leaves, ovate-orbicular. Flowers are 1-5 cm across, solitary in the leaf axils and subtended by five bracts, pink in colour. Fruit is a capsule, about 1 cm and covered with blunt spines. Epicalyx is spreading or reflexed in fruit.
