  • Key identification features : A evergreen tree. Bark is glutinose, brown with branchlets slender and tomentose. Leaves are crowded, acute at apex, grey, lower surface downy, pubescent. Flowers are white or yellowish in umbelules. Fruit is globose, purple when ripe.

  • Comments : Bark is glutinous; Leaves have pleasant odour as that of Cinnamomum. Not common, found rarely in semi-evergreen forests of Western ghats.
