  • Key identification features : A stout herbaceous plant, strongly aromatic. Leaves are ovate-lanceolate, cuneate at base, acute at apex, entire or crenulate, pubescent or glabrous. Racemes are terminal, usually branched at base, floral leaves and bracts are usually dark purple in colour. Flowering calyx are upto 6 mm long. Upper lip is broadly ovate-orbicular. Corolla long, white or pale purple. Nutlets mucilaginous when wetted.
