  • Key identification features : A large shrub with angular branches, leafy and terminate in sharp spines. Leaves are simple, alternate and ovate. Flowers are unisexual, small (less than 1 cm), fragrant and apetalous. Male flowers appear in axillary clusters. Fruit is small, globose, smooth and white in colour. Occassional in deciduous forests.
