  • Key identification features : A middle-sized deciduous tree, often gregarious. Young shoots,branchlets, inflorescence and the sepals are clothed with minute orbicular silvery scales. Leaves are simple oblong to lanceolate with crenate-serrate margin and crowded towards the tip of the branchlets.They turn red before falling. Flowers are pale yellow greenish, solitary or in fasciled racemes, males flowers are in the upper part the raceme whereas the female flowers are in the lower part of inflorescence. Fruit is a capsule.
