  • Key identification features : A lofty deciduous tree that grows up to 35 m. Bark is dark-brown or grey that peels-off into angular scales. Leaves are palmately compound. Leaflets 3-5, ovate or ovate-oblong and shiny. Flowers are small, greenish-yellow in a terminal panicle. Male flowers are minute and female flowers of 0.5 cm diameter. Fruit is a smooth globose berry. Seeds are trigonous and shiny. Stem exudes red juice when cut.
