  • Key identification features : A large tree with buttressed trunk. Leaves are simple, obovate, clustered at the ends of branchlets; petiole and midrib with rufous hairs. Inflorescence is an axillary raceme. Flowers are white with yellow tinge. Sepals 5 and hairy, petals 5, laciniate at the widening apex and silky hairy outside. Stamens are many with aristate anthers. Fruit is a drupe with smooth surface; pyrenes terete,tuberculed and 1-2 ovuled.
