  • Key identification features : A large tree with pubescent branchlets. Leaves are simple, elliptic, acute at both the ends. Margin serrate, petiole pubescent. Inflorescence is a raceme and arises in the axils of fallen leaf. Flowers are white and oriented facing downwards. Calyx ovate-lanceolate. Corolla glabrous, obovate and laciniate. Stamens many, with short filaments, anthers with tufts of stiff hairs at the apices. Fruit is a drupe, pyrenes are tuberculate.
