- Key identification features : A large handsome nearly evergreen tree with often buttressed trunk and drooping branchlets. Leaves are simple, oblong, crenulate and leathery in texture; petiole glandular. Flowers are small, white and are borne on catkins. Fruit is ovoid with 5-7 angles or wings. Bark is grey-moss-green and smooth.
